February 19th 2021, Paris - Green logistics provider, Urb-it AB and postal service giant Le Groupe La Poste will expand their operation to Paris to provide zero-carbon last-mile deliveries and seek to reduce the city's growing c02 emissions. The latest announcement comes off the back of a successful collaboration and rollout period in the French City of Strasbourg at the beginning of 2021.

A 2020 study found that air pollution in Paris has more than doubled since the end of the pandemic on May 11th 2020, and hit the highest level among European cities. Urb-it AB and Le Groupe La Poste will combine and use a green vehicle fleet in a joint bid to reduce air pollution and revitalize the city, helping it achieve its 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The latest partnership will also aim to bring more value to the people of Paris through the formation of sustainable solutions and customer-centric delivery expertise. Operations will be rolled out from a large-scale distribution center in the city's 5th district, directly to the end-consumer. This will allow for an enhanced delivery service that is greener and more convenient, all while contributing to the continued reduction of air pollution and congestion in urban areas."

Martin Lehec, Country Manager of Urb-it France commented "The recent collaboration with Le Groupe La Poste in Strasbourg has flourished since our inception back in January. This is testament to the dedicated work of our teams and demonstrates our ability to adapt, rapidly scale and meet consumer requirements. I am therefore very excited to commence our Paris operation and meet the demands of the city's consumers by offering emission-free and quality-driven deliveries. Our green fleet vehicle offering will also enable us to be even more committed to making Paris more sustainable and environmentally friendly city for residents.
